We feel it intimately, this sense of being, together with the awareness of the phenomenal world. We miss the subtle distinction of this togetherness, the first step to self-realization, due to the complacent habituation of a dominant personal me. But on reflection, which feels most real? There is an unmistakable sense of ‘I,’ but who am I in this paradox of worldly reality?
Being shows up and is ever-present as the aspect of an elusive awareness we call being conscious. We know it’s here, but it’s untouchable; challenging to place a finger on it; however, in turn, the form and phenomenon of the physical world are tangible and seemingly authentic, indicative of the personal me interacting with life.
By ceasing to see through strict objectifying and just noticing what’s already here, what has always been here, and what never changes, a fundamental appreciation of consciousness, the sense of being will become forefront. And will be realized as ever-present and unchanging. Whatever does change within our perceptible environment, the personal me and the phenomenal world will become the background, a picture on the screen of consciousness.
One cannot find the truth within the nature of reality through phenomenon alone. What is there to hold on to when worldly existence is constantly changing? Truth can only be recognized as the ‘sense of being,’ the inner ‘I’ that never changes. Realize who has this and any experience, and what about the examination itself? There is a fine line between being consciously aware of something and the pure awareness itself having the experience.
Oneness reconciles the paradox of being, our sense of existence, and consciousness’s significance in the awareness of our world environment. Oneness, Non-dual, meaning not two is Unity. What does that represent? A Singularity? Of What? The Singularity of objects, any object, all things? It must be Oneness in the examination of itself. It’s all Oneness experiencing itself. Oneness is experiencing itself through the appearance of everything. And ‘I’ is yet pervading and permeating the ‘all’ through the continuous experiencing movement. Oneness is all there is, and this is it, pure experiencing.
